5.18 사기극 온 국민에게 알 권리를 선포한다.
5.18 의혹 규명은 진실과 정의를 회복하려는 역사적인 사명이다.
전군 구국 동지연합회는 5.18 관련 진실 규명을 망언과 헌법 파괴로 매도하지 말고, 5.18이 북한군이 일으킨 폭동이 아닌 민주화 운동으로 인정을 받으려면 5.18에 대한 다음 사항을 전 국민이 납득할 수 있도록 청와대와 5.18진상규명위원회는 철저하게 규명할 것을 촉구한다.
1. 5.18때 시민군을 지휘한 자는 누구인가?
지휘체계와 지휘통신망도 없었던 시민군이 일사불란하게 시위를 주도하고, 시민군 지휘자도 없이 대규모 무장폭동으로 발전했다. 통신망도 지휘자도 없이 전지전능한 일이 벌어진 것을 어떻게 해석해야 하는가? 1개 소대만 지휘하려고 해도 소대장과 분대장간의 교신 통신 장비와 통신 운용 규칙(주파수, 호출부호, 신호체계)이 있어야 한다. 5.18 때 예비군 무기만 털렸지 통신장비마저 털렸다는 기록은 어디에도 없다. 통신장비가 털렸다하더라도 단기간에 통신망을 구성하고 운용하는 것은 불가능하다. 작은 행사를 해도 사전에 T F가 구성되고 지도부가 사전 예행연습을 하지 않는가? 5.18 때 지휘를 했다고 하는 사람이 한 명도 없는가? 어떤 장비로 어떤 지휘망을 구성하고 어떻게 지휘를 했다고 밝히는 사람이 없는지 너무 궁금하다. 김대중을 비롯 내란음모를 주도한 자는 감옥소에 구속이 된 상태였는데 어떻게 일사불란한 지휘가 되었을까?
서 광주 톨 게이트에서 20사단을 공격한 집단은 누구인가? 국군 20사단이 서 광주 톨게이트로 진입할 것을 어떻게 알았으며, 광주시민군이 육군1개 사단을 공격할 정도의 전투력과 감청 능력을 갖고 있었는지 알고 싶다. 북한에서 원거리 통신 감청을 하고 고정간첩에게 실시간 지령도 어려웠던 시절이다. 현장에서 바로 보고 지휘하지 않았다면 일어날 수 없는 불가사의한 일들이 너무도 많다. 왜 그들 중 한명이라도 내가 그때 톨게이트에서 20사단 습격에 동참을 했다고 증언하는 사람이 없는가?
2.장갑차 조종과 폭약 조립은 고도로 훈련된 자만이 다룰 수 있다.
기아자동차에 침입하여 장갑차 4대와 군용차 382대를 탈취해서 타고나온 사람들은 누구인가? 1980년에는 광주에 승용차를 운전할 수 있는 시민은 몇 명 안 되었다. 더구나 5.18당시에 활동한 시민군은 넝마주의, 구두 닦기, 양아치 등 이라고 하는데 그들이 조종이 까다로운 최신형장갑차를 몰고, 군용트럭을 운전할 수 있었는지 의심이 간다. 1톤 이상의 TNT를 도청 지하로 옮기고, 결합하고 뇌관까지 결합된 상태였다. 터지면 반경 5KM가 순식간에 날아가는데 과연 광주 시민이 자기들이 다 죽는 짓을 했을까?
광주, 전남에 있는 무기고 44곳을 습격하여, 소총과 탄약을 탈취한 시간이 4시간 밖에 안 걸렸다는데 이곳을 습격한 자는 누구이고 지휘한 자는 누구인가? 칼빈 탄약을 탄창에 결합하는 일도 쉬운 일이 아닌데, 길거리에서 독극물 박스에 걸터앉아서 탄창 결합하는 사진이 있다. 시민군들이 행한 일이라면, 광주시민군들은 평소 사전에 특수훈련이라도 받았다는 말인가? 광주시민군이 어떻게 무기고의 위치를 알고, 무기도 없이 4시간 만에 무기고를 습격했는지 궁금하다.
3. 광주교도소 공격은 누가 했는가?
계엄군이 지키는 교도소를 5회에 걸쳐 공격했다. 공격한 집단이 누구인가? 시민군이라면 교도소 공격을 엄두도 내지 못했을 것이다. 시민군이 다급하고 분노한 상태에서 교도소 공격은 우선순위가 아니었을 것이다. 광주 교도소에는 미전향 수인(囚人)이 백여명 있었다고 한다. 폭동으로 아비규환인 상태에서 교도소 공격을 생각했다는 것은 비상하고 비범한 일이 아닌가? 윤장현 광주시장은 교도소는 시민군이 공격하지 않았다고 했는데 그러면 누가 교도소를 공격했는가? 그리고 교도소 공격 간에 많은 사람이 희생이 되었다고 한다. 사망자는 누가 처리했는가? 청주에서 발굴된 430 유골이 그 희생자라는 이야기도 있던데 사실인가? 그런데, 5.18 유공자 중에는 광주교도소 공격에 가담을 했다는 자는 없다고 한다. 참으로 귀신도 통곡할 일이 아닌가?
4. 시민군 사상자 다수가 시민군이 갖고 있던 카빈총에 사망했다는데 이게 사실인가?
공수특전단에 발포 명령을 했고 헬기사격을 했다면 사망자 수가 엄청날 것인데 공식발표에 의하면 총상에 의한 민간인 사망자 수가 116명이다. 시민군 사상자 중 다수가 시민군이 갖고 있던 카빈총에 사망했다. 기록에 의하면 총116명의 총상 사망자 중 카빈총에 의해 사망한 사람이 85명(75%)이라고 한다. 군인 전사자 23명 중 20명이 칼빈총 조준사격(국방부는 피격으로 표현)으로 사망했다. 시민군이 광주시민과 군인을 쏘았다는 것인가? 시민은 군인을 조준할 양심과 배짱이 없다. 처음 발포명령자는 생명의 위협을 느꼈던 계엄군 자신이고 자위권 차원의 발동이었다.
5. 북한에서 왜 매년, 5.18기념식을 하고 있는가?
북한은 1980년 5월에 광주 현장을 찍은 동영상 방송을 했다. 북한은 5.18때 사망한 북한군을 영웅시 한다는데 이게 사실인가? 탈북자들의 진술이다. 5.18에 참가한 북한군이 탈북 하여 5.18을 북한군이 저질렀다는 방송을 했는데 그 후 부터는 언론에 전혀 공개되지 않았다. 왜 1회만 방송에 출현시켰으며, 그 탈북자는 지금 어디에 살고 있는가? 그자를 불러내어 국민 앞에 세워 물어보면 5.18의 단초가 풀릴 텐데 그렇지 못하는 이유는 무엇인가? 북한영화 ‘임을 위한 교향시’ 주제곡이 ‘임을 위한 행진곡’이고 그 곡을 황석영이 제공했다는데 이게 진실인가? 탈북자가 집필한 5.18의 진상에 대한 도서(보랏빛 향기)가 출판되고, 그 내용에 북한군이 5.18을 주도했다는데 이게 사실인가? 사실이 아니라면 그 진상을 정부가 밝혀 거짓정보를 유포한 자를 처벌해야 하는데 그렇지 못하는 이유는 무엇인가?
6. 5.18 유공자가 누구인지 국민은 알고 싶어 한다.
최근 광주 5.18 기념 공원에 5.18유공자가 4,287명이라는 인터넷 방송이 있었다. 총상에 의한 사망자가116명, 부상자가 600 여명이었는데 유공자가 4천 명이 넘는 이유는 어디에 있으며, 그 유공자가 매년 늘어나는 이유는 뭔가? 5.18 유공자의 가문에 입양이 되어도 동일한 보상을 받는다고 하는데 사실인가? 국가유공자라면 가문의 영광인데 왜 국가유공자 명단을 밝히라는 국민들의 요구에 반대를 하는가?
이해찬 더불어민주당 대표 같은 경우 자신은 5.18 때 광주 근처에도 가보지 않았는데 5.18 유공자가 되었다라고 한 동영상이 있다. 5.18 기념 공원 대리석 비석에 문재인, 문익환, 김병준, 설훈, 한명숙 등 유명 정치인도 있다고 한다. 살아 있는 자는 산 자의 입으로 유공자가 된 경위를 밝혀야 되지 않는가? 5.18을 흔드는 것은 대한민국을 흔드는 짓이라고 엄포를 놓는 것으로 끝날 문제인가?
7. 5.18 진실 규명은 광주시민 명예회복의 길이다.
5.18은 북한이 저지른 폭동으로 규명되지 못하면 광주 시민은 국가의 명령을 받고 출동한 군인과 경찰을 죽인 살인자로 남는다. 빛고을 광주가 무지하게 시민을 살해했다고 보지 않는다. 광주는 집단 체면에서 깨어나 진실의 편에 서야 한다. 진짜 유공자는 모든 국민의 추앙을 받는 영광을 드리고, 가짜 유공자는 누구인지를 밝혀 이 가짜들이 국가로 부터 보상을 받았다면 모두 회수해야 한다. 전군 구국 동지 연합회는 5.18 관련 역사의 준엄한 해명과 해석과 규명을 요구한다.

Making effort to find out truth on the suspicions of the May 18th is a historical duty to recover truth and justice
The National Union of Save-the-Country Congenial Spirits hereby demand ChongWaDae and the May 18th truth-finding committee that, if the May 18th is to be recognized as democratization movement and not as a series of riots raised by North Korean troops, they should not disparage the efforts to find the truth of the May 18th as absurd remarks or as destruction of the Constitution, but should make thorough investigation on below items on the May 18th so that all the nation can be convinced of them.
Who Commanded the Civilian Troops at the Time of the May 18th?
To command only a platoon, you will need communication equipment and its employment regulations (frequency, call signs, signal system). At the time of the May 18th, only arms for reserve forces had been robbed, but there was no record anywhere that indicated any communication equipment were robbed. In case when the equipments were even robbed, it is impossible to make up the communication network in a short period and actually employ it. Even for a small event, isn’t a task force composed in advance and don’t the commanding team go through a rehearsal in advance? Is there no one who contends that he commanded the May 18th? I really wonder why there is no one who makes it public how he made up the communication network with what equipments and how he commanded them all. It was in the time when all the leaders who committed conspiracy of a rebellion including Kim Dae-Joong were taken into custody in jail, then how could they have taken command of it all in perfect order?
What kind of a group of people were they who raided the 20th Division at West Gwangju tollgate? How could they have come to know that our 20th Division would make approach through West Gwangju tollgate, and I want to know whether Gwangju civilian troops had the combat capability and intercepting ability strong enough to attack a Division of our Army. It was in the old times when North Korea had difficulty to do long-range communication interception and issue orders to local agents in real time. There were so many mysterious incidents that could not have happened except they commanded it all in an instant reaction at the scene. Why has there been not a single individual among all of them who came out to testify to the fact that he took part in the raiding on the 20th Division at the tollgate?
2. Operation of APC and Assembling of Explosives, Only Highly-Trained Experts Can Do
Who was those people who invaded Kia Motors Co., took 4 APCs and 382 military trucks by force and drove them out? At the time of 1980, there were only limited number of citizen who were able to drive a car. Furthermore, it was found out that the civilian troops at the time of the May 18th were mostly ragmen, shoeshine boys and social delinquents, and I doubt that they could have driven the latest model APCs which were hard to control, and also driven the military trucks. They moved more than one ton of TNT explosives under the provincial building basement, and finished assembling them all, even the detonators. When it explodes, a radius of 5KM would be blowing off in a moment, then could it have been possible for Gwangju citizen to really commit a thing to kill themselves at all?
It was said that it took only four hours for them to raid on the 44 ordnance stores in Gwangju and Junnam districts and took firearms and ammunitions by force, then who were they who raided there and who was its commander? It is not an easy job to put only billets into a magazine, but what’s more to it was, there is a picture which shows they were putting bullets into magazine even sitting on toxic chemical boxes in the street. Had Gwangju citizen got any special training or so in ordinary times? I wonder how they came to know where the ordnance stores were, and how they were able to raid on all the ordnance stores in just four hours without having weapons.
3. Who Attacked Gwangju Prison?
They attacked the prison five times which the martial law troops were defending. Who were the group who did the attack? If they had been civilian troops, they could not have dared to attack the prison. As the civilian troops were angry and being pressed for time, prison attack might have not been their first priority. Gwangju prison was said to have confined more than one hundred political inmates who had not converted. Wasn’t it an extra-ordinary and remarkable thing that they thought out the attack to prison in the pandemonium caused by riots, was it? Former Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang-Hyon said that Gwangju citizen had never attacked Gwangju prison, then who attacked the prison? And it was said that many people sacrificed their lives in the attack of the prison. Who did the treatment of the corpses? Rumor has it that the 430 human remains which were exhumed in Chongju are the victims, is it true? Meanwhile, it is said that there is no May 18th man of merit who took part in the attack of the prison. Isn’t it really something disagreeably surprising, is it?
4. It Is Said That Many Casualties of Civilian Troops Were Those Who Were Shot Dead by Carbine Rifles of Civilian Troops, Is It True?
If an order to open fire was given to special airborne troops and helicopter opened the shooting, casualties would have been tremendous, but according to official announcement, civilian casualties killed from bullet wound was 116. Among civilian troops casualties, most of them were shot dead by Carbine rifles of civilian troops. According to the record, among the total 116 individuals who died of bullet wound, those who were killed by Carbine rifles were 85 individuals (75%). Among the 23 soldiers killed in action, 20 were killed from aimed shooting (Defense Ministry expressed it as attacked by shooting) by Carbine rifle. Does it mean that civilian troops really shot at Gwangju citizen and soldiers? Citizen have no gut to aim at soldiers, nor do they have gut to betray their conscience to aim at them. The first orderer to open fire were the martial law troops themselves who felt threat on their lives, and it was their rightful action to protect themselves.
5. Why Does North Korea Hold Annual Commemorative Ceremony of the May 18th?
On May 1980, North Korea broadcasted videos in which the Gwangju scenes were taken. It is said that North Korea is making heroes of those who were killed in the May 18th, is it true? It is North Korean defectors’ statement. A North Korean soldier who took part in the May 18th defected from the North, and said appearing on a TV that North Korean troops had perpetrated the May 18th, but thereafter he has been closed to the public and journalism completely. Why was he allowed to appear on TV only one time, and where does the defector live now? If we call him out, have him stand in front of the people and ask him, we would be able to get the clue of the May 18th, but what is the reason why we don’t do it? It is said that the theme song of a North Korean movie “Symphonic Poem for My Beloved Nyhm” is the “A March for My Beloved Nyhm”, and that it was provided by Hwang Sok-Yong, is it true? It is also said that a book (The Purple Fragrance) about the truth of the May 18th, written by a defector, was issued, and the content has the story that the May 18th was led by North Korean troops, is it true? If it is not, then the government should disclose the truth and put punishment on him who distributed false information, but what is the reason why they are not doing it?
6. The Nation Want to Know Who Are the May 18th Men of Merit
Recently, an internet Youtube video broadcasted that in the May 18th Memorial Park in Gwangju are inscribed 4,287 names of the May 18th man of merit. The numbers of those who were killed from bullet wound was 116, and those injured were 600, but what is the reason why the number of man of merit has increased to over four thousands, and what is the reason why they are ever increasing every year? There are rumors that when someone is adopted to a family of man of merit, he/she is to receive the same compensation, it is true? Just suppose, if someone is a man of merit, it would be an honor to his/her family, but why does such people oppose to people’s request to disclose the names of man of merit?
For the case of Lee Hae-Chan, Representative of Democratic Party, there is a video about him in which he said that he became a man of merit of the May 18th even he had not visited Gwangju or nearby there at the time of the May 18th. They say that on the marble tablets in the May 18th Memorial Park are inscribed names of famous politicians such as Moon Jae-In, Moon Ik-Hwan, Kim Byong-Joon, Sol Hoon and Han Myong-Sook. Isn’t it right that whose who are living ought to reveal with their own lips the particulars by which they were recognized as men of merit, is it?
Is it a simple matter to finish it by blustering that shaking the May 18th is just like shaking South Korea.
7. The Truth-Finding of the May 18th Is Also A Way to Retrieving Gwangju citizen’s Honor
If the May 18th fails to be defined as riots perpetrated by North Korea through truth-finding investigation, Gwangju citizen will have to remain as murderers who killed soldiers and policemen who went out there on the order of the State. I don’t think the sunlight village Gwangju killed their own citizen indiscreetly. Gwangju should come out of mass hypnosis and stand by the side of truth. For real men of merit, every of them should be given glory in national high esteem, and for pseudo-men of merit, we should disclose who are they and withdraw all the compensation if they had received it from the State.
