Jee Man-Won Is A Man Who Blotted Out Disgrace of Gwangju, but has never defamed Gwangju

<From the bill of complaint against Kim Byong-Joon, Sol-Hoon, Min Byong-Doo and Choi Kyong-Hwan>

Though the accused are alleging that the accuser defamed the honor of the May 18th, it is only a groundless religion in which they disregard logic and fact. Presently, the May 18th pro-democracy movement power is defining Gwangju as ‘the good’, and the martial law troops as ‘the evil’. The martial law troopers, however, were also sons of the nation. They were precious warriors who defended the country singing national anthem. Is it rightful to say that sons of Gwangju were sons of angels and martial law troopers were sons of devils? Gwangju people attacked TV broadcasts with the reason that they made North Korean troops a subject of discussion, and also used mob violence to Jee Man-Won in the corridor of the court, etc. It would not be rightful to call this sort of Gwangju people sons of angels.

Among the 154 individuals killed in Gwangju, more than 80 percent were killed in the places where martial law troops were not there, and 75 percent (85 individuals) of the total individuals (116) who died of bullet wound, were shot dead by carbine rifle, etc., which were taken from the ordnance stores. Below acts, perpetrated by demonstrators, are eternal disgrace to Gwangju, -- the act of having raided regular Division in maneuvering and taken 14 Jeeps including Division commander’s, having maneuvered 600 men to invade the defense industries of ‘Asia Motor Co.’ factory and took four APC (armored personnel carriers) and 374 military trucks, having raided 44 ordnance stores hidden in 44 cities and counties in Junnam province in just four hours and took 5,403 fire arms, and opened fire to martial law troops, having assembled 2,100 round of TNT explosives and tried to blow off Gwangju city like 2nd Hiroshima, and having attacked Gwangju prison five times, etc.. The accuser contended that these acts were perpetrated by North Korean troops. In this case, isn’t the accuser the one who blotted out the disgrace of Gwangju, is it? Haven’t Gwangju and martial law troops all together turned to victims of North Korean troops, have they? Jee Man-Won is a man who retrieved honor of both Gwangju and martial law troops. The accuser has one problem that he was unable to solve during the 18 years of his research on the May 18th. The accuser don’t understand why Gwangju people like others to say that the damages of Gwangju were incurred only by martial law troops, and why they brutally attack those who say damages of Gwangju were incurred by North Korean troops. The accuser really don’t understand why his effort to disclose North Korea’s act of invasion which they perpetrated without declaration of war, becomes disgrace to Gwangju. The accuser’s research result is not of the character to get lawfully sued by Gwangju people.
