Table of Contents
Chapter 1.Military Operations Conducted in Gwangju city, South Korea
1. The number of 600 operational forces committed in Gwangju was recognized by both North Korea and South Korea.
2. At 08:00 on May 21, 300 militias disguised as local citizens that had obtained a top secret that the ROK's 20th Infantry Division would enter into Gwangju city, ambushed near the tollgate and accurately attacked the Division forces.
3. At 09:00 on May 21, 600 militias of an international mercenary level occupied the Asia Motors, a military equipment supplier that was under maximum security, and seized 4 new armored personnel carriers(APC) and 600 military trucks and rushed toward 44 armories scattered within the Jeollanamdo region.
4. Exactly from 12:00 noon on May 21 to 4 P.M., they raided 44 armories that were completely camouflaged in 17 cities and counties in the Jeollanam-do region in just four(4) hours by seizing 5,403 firearms and 8 tons of dynamite explosives.
5. Militias armed with carbines seized from the armories, shot 88 of innocent Gwangju citizens dead.
6. Militias quickly assembled 2,100 dynamite explosives, which only skilled personnel of Explosive Ordnance Disposa(EOD) could handle, in a basement of the City Hall and threatened to blow up Gwangju city like what had happened in Hiroshima, Japan.
7. The militias attempted to free 2,700 inmates including espionages kept in Gwangju Prison by attacking it five times in a night operation that even the airborne troops trained special warfare tactics were reluctant to conduct. Gwangju Prison was under the protection with the highest priority as No1 martial law facility. As a result, the militias suffered tremendous casulties.
Chapter 2. The May 18 Gwangju Riot's Initiatve NK Communist Regime Exposed.
8. North Korean Textbooks and North Korea's History books on the operation against the South clearly state that May 18 Gwanhju Riot was a unification operation instructed and commanded by Kim Il-sung.
9. North Korea has held commemoration ceremony of the May 18 Gwangju Riot in a large scale for several days in the 28 cities.
10. The letters “May 18” are a gift of honor that Kim Il-sung bestows on the best in North Korea
11. In May 1980, only North Korea exercised an exclusive right to film in Gwangju city.
12. North Korea led the May 18 films, and South Korea’s May 18 films are derivatives of North Korea's.
13. Both NK high ranking defector Hwang Jang-yeop and Kim Deok-hong revealed at an interview “May 18 Gwangju Riot was an incident committed by the North and blamed it on South Korea. Kim Il-sung congratulated the success of the May 18 Gwangju Riot and gave a bunch of medals to the officers of the Operation Dept against the South.”
14. The documents that recorded the riots simultaneously broke out in Gwangju and various parts of Jeollanam-do in detail like a video, are only stated in NK's literature.
15. In Gwangju, protests and battles coexisted. However, South Korean authorities’ materials are confined to a single frame called ‘protests’ and only record rigid words and numbers showing little power of information delivery. On the other hand, North Korean literature comprehensively describes the on-site situations where the two dimensions of ‘protests’ and ‘battles’ coexist and are combined, like a film, based on the 6W principle, like a novel. While North Korean experts who write war history wrote the situational facts by observing directly at the site, the South Korean authorities wrote the situational records indirectly depending on operational situation reports radioed by sergeants and corporals from various locations on the scene.
16. The recorded documents on protests and battles carried out in Gwangju maintain tactics, strategies, post-analysis evaluations, and lessons learned from the Gwangju protests and battles. In the mean time, South Korean authorities’ documents do not contain such high-level content. It is obviously stated in North Korean documents that protests and battles coexisted and were combined in Gwangju. High-levelled and professional military terms such as “order of battle” and “counter-encirclement” appear in North Korean documents.
17. In a document published by North Korea in 1982, statistics on the ages and occupations of 730 Gwangju residents who participated in the protests were specifically analyzed and listed. On the other hand, there is no such analysis in documents issued by the South Korean authorities. In South Korea, the author, who is merely a private citizen, first analyzed 252 protestors who received sentences of above probation from court-martial and 154 of Gwangju resident casualties in 2008. The results of the analysis are almost identical to the ones analyzed by the North Korean authorities.
18. Son Seong-mo, a North Korean espionage infiltrated into Gwangju, received a life sentence from the Supreme Court, but after meeting with Kim Dae-jung, he was freed and repatriated to North Korea after serving 12 years in prison. The NK spy, Son Seong-mo was greatly honored and became a hero in the North. It was presumed that the reason why Kim Dae-jung had freed Son Seong-mo out of prison and sent to the North because the spy had planned the May 18th Gwangju Riot with Kim Dae-jung and worked hard in Gwangju to make it successful. According to North Korean sources, Son Seong-mo has been highly treated as the greatest hero in North Korea for his successful accomplishments made in the May 18 Gwangju Riot.
19. North Korea is still mourning. It has emphasized through various media outlets that there were 475 North Korean heroes who were killed while storming the Gwangju Prison. These 475 heroes left their beloved parents and siblings behind in North Korea and fought fiercely to unite their divided country, and they are said to be blooming red like “azaleas on Mt. Mudeung.”
20. On May 23, 2014, 430 bodies marked with serial numbers on them buried one meter-deep underground in a military file, were discovered by construction workers in a mountainous area of Cheongju city, South Korea. The bodies laid were wrapped in a method that can only be found in Gwangju. And the way of treatment for the dead was a total mystery, and it was highly possible to speculate that the bodies were taken back to North loaded on a Kim Jong-un's private plane that flew into Incheon Airport on October 4, 2014 carrying North Korea's several political figures who were scheduled to attend the closing ceremony of the Asian Games.
21. North Korea sent 15 photographs of crushed faces that were unidentifiable as citizens of Gwangju, to the priests of the ‘Public Reconciliation Commission’ in Gwangju. And the priests of Gwangju immediately started inciting the citizens of Gwangju by claiming that the 15 crushed faces were the result of the atrocities of the Airborne Brigade. It was a psychological warfare to incite the South Korean people and the international community to have them believe that the country of South Korea is an evil group and therefore must be destroyed.
22. The number of people killed in Gwangju at the time was 166, and 12 of them were identified as no South Koreans. If their facial features were found as Korean but their identity was still unverifiable as South Koreans, they must be from North Korea. Most of the North Korean casualties that must have been killed while attempting to attack the Gwangju Prison, were probably taken to Cheongju in order to hide the fact of NK's perpetration of the May18 Gwangju Riot. North Korea blatantly exposed the fact that it lost 475 people in Gwangju. 45(475- 430 (found in Cheongju)= 45) bodies must have been scattered like ears of rice, and the 12 bodies as mentioned above would mean a part of these 45 casualties.
23. The commander-in-chief of the civilian group that came to Gwangju was Kim Jung-rin, who was the NK's head of the South Korean Operations Department at the time. His position was corresponding to the KCIA chief in the South. He was a master of conspiracy. On the scene he took a lot of performance photos of the Gwangju citizens who were killed and blamed it on the Airborne Corps. Even though the NK militias raped Gwangju women and stole precious metals, they still blamed it on the martial law forces of Airborne Corps, and slandered the Airborne Corps as an unjust group that brutally assaulted the youth of Gwangju.
Chapter 3, Gwangju Exposed ‘North Korea’s May 18 Initiative’
24. On May 22, at 3:08 PM, Gwangju city held a welcoming ceremony for 500 college students from Seoul. This is recorded on the ‘May 18 Memorial Foundation's website’ and also on the stone tablet. The May 18 Memorial Foundation not only failed to explain this record, but also altered the record several times, and finally deleted the record itself after receiving criticisms from netizens.
25. The May18 Gwangju Riot lasted for 10 days. The entire Jeollanam-do region was involved, and the scale was estimated as many as 300,000 people. However, there was no one in South Korea who led this massive protests and battles. Either looking at the photos or reading the records, it was easily possible to notice that there were obvious commanders and leaders who controlled the rioters and people around on the scene. However, none of those who commanded was identified from Gwangju. This fact therefore strongly supports a assumption that they must have been the commandos from North Korea.
26. Even though the May 18 Gwangju Riot was carried out in perfect order like an international level of mercenary, there was no sign that South Korea's reserve forces had participated in the operation. Furthermore, the national merits so-called the May 18 honorees chosen and registered as the top merit class were children in their teens and twenties.
Chapter 4, The subjects shown in the photos taken on the scene were not young thugs, but believed to be a highly trained operational show that only world-class mercenaries could perform.
27. Looking at the on-site photos, people can easily find that the rioters were skillfully handled the heavy military equipment and weapons that only professionally trained experts could operate. Explosives such as grenades and dynamites emit harmful gases. And this is the fact that only professional experts could know. Nonetheless, as seen in the on-site photos, two technicians wearing gas masks are working on the explosives. This is not a job that Gwangju teenagers with no military experience could boldly maneuver.
28. In each photograph taken on the scene during the May 18 Gwangju Riot, it was obviously noticeable that a strict system of a commanding channel was in place, which was clearly impossible for the thug groups and teenagers who were even receiving relatively disdainful treatments in the society though. Because the armored vehicle has very narrow field of observation, someone has to guide it to carry out proper operation. In the on-site photos, there is a guy who drives the armored vehicle and the other one guides the APC.you can see the person driving the armored vehicle and the person guiding them. No one but trained military personnel could have acted like this. Definitely they are not residents of Gwangju city.
Chapter 5, The intended massacre by the armed group of mob that exclusively occupied the rooftop of Geumnam-ro was framed as the ‘massacre in front of the city hall by the martial law troops.
29. The only deceased person that Gwangju Organization claims was Jo Sa-cheon as if he were shot by the martial law troops. However, it was confirmed by a forensic pathologist who precisely analyzed the autopsy report of doctors that he had been shot dead by a carbine rifle aimed at a 70-degree angle by a group of mob who had exclusively occupied the rooftop of the Catholic Building located the end of Geumnam-ro. The Catholic building was located beyond the martial law troops' ken then gathered at the Jeonnam Provincial Office.
Chapter 6. Martial law troops were not murderers, but Gwangju's benefactors who actively protected Gwangju citizens and their property.
30. Gwangju Organization has been propagandizing that "Chun Doo-hwan gave the order to the martial law troops to kill 70% of the entire population of Jeolla Province, and made the airborne troops drink hallucinogenic drugs to commit human slaughter like wild beasts. However, as shown in the photos below, the martial law troops were Gwangju's benefactors and angels.
31. Looking at the documents declassified by the United States, the martial law troops were humane guardians who sacrificed themselves to protect the citizens of Gwangju. In addition, 9 documents that the United States has lately declassified contain strong messages suggesting that North Korea led the May 18 Gwangju Riot. The US documents further revealed that Gwangju citizens held a people's trial and summarily executed the fellow citizens of Gwangju. In addition, four photos from the scene show four of good looking gentlemen arrested and taken to the city hall. In fact, the four gentlemen arrested have been included in the death list.
Chapter 7.The Red Identity Gwangju Itself Has Shown ‘Gwangju is a Branch of North Korea’
32. Gwangju has denied the foundation of the Republic of Korea. A grand festival so-called"Festival for the National Unification" was held in Gwangju in 2006 where communists from both sides the North and South freely met and exchanged confidential information.
During the festival the red participants shouted out communization and removal of the US troops on Korean peninsula. It was a red feast where the attendees publicly declared to the world that “Kim Dae-jung, Kim Jong-il, North Korea, and Gwangju are one.” It was a 4-night, 5-day performance that declared that Gwangju was a branch of North Korea. It was a communist unification play where prominent communists living in South Korea and overseas gathered including North Korean 148 delegates. Kim Dae-jung defined the nature of May 18 Gwangju Riot by saying that the unification festival must be the same dream of the Gwangju victims as well.
33. With regard to the expression of "North Korea's intervention", the Gwangju city mayor, the May 18 Gwangju organizations, residents and Gwangju district court have formed a cartel and launched all-out offensive by showing a collective hysterical reactions. Why in the world the expression that defines "the sacrifice of Gwangju was caused by North Korea" has made entire Gwangju city people react with such a hysterical behavior? So why is the entire Gwangju city making such a hysterical attack? This fact is no different from declaring that Gwangju is a branch of North Korea.
34. The May 18 Democratization Movement is meant to have exercised violence, power, and treason. Since the end of the May 18 Gwangju Riot, the only actions that the entire Gwangju city has taken are exercises of violence and power. The spirit of May 18 is a spirit of violence and treason. They have kept trying to insert this spirit in the preamble to the ROK's Constitution.
35. Those who may express an opposing opinion about May 18, the Gwangju court will summon them and punish with a felony. Despite countless complains about why the Gwangju court monopolizes trials related to the May 18, no one has yet paid attention to it. This is not a democratic court, but nothing less than a court of a totalitarian state.
Chapter 8, As many as 661 faces among the crowd on the scene were spotted as North Korean faces, but not a single one was verified as a Gwangju citizen.
36.Description of Gwangsu: In fact, the third North Korean (No. 3 Gwangsu) out of 661 North Koreans found by the image analyst, Nosukjadamyo was actually known to be Kim Gwangsu. Accordingly, as this information was obtained through testimnies of the NK defectors, the author decided to call the 661 North Koreans as their aliases of "Gwangsu".
Film director Kang Sang-wook led a team for four years to search for the No.1 Gwansu and find if the said No.1 Gwangsu, the most symbolic figure among the 661 Gwangsu discovered by Nosukjadamyo, a well known image analyst was actually living in Jeolla Province area. But he failed to search the No.1 Gwangsu. The film director was only able to hear about the No.1 Gwangsu from a female witness who said that the No.1 Gwangsu was surnamed “Kim” and that he stayed in a tent as a garbage picker with 7-8 colleagues by the Gwangjucheon River before disappearing after the riot was ended. This means that the No.1 Gwangsu came from the North, disguised himself as one of the poors, and returned to the North after revealing his name as “Kim.”
37. On May 17, 1999, the three broadcasting companies showed the face photos of the four people taken on the scene on TV screen all day long and appealed to the heroes to come forward, but no one came forward.
In 2015-2016, the mayor of Gwangju city and the May18 Ogaization held a photo exhibition for the faces of the Gwangsu victims for six months and appealed to the persons in the photo to come forward, but no one came forward. There are no Gwangsu victims in Gwangju.
However, the faces of the four persons above were discovered by the image analyst, Nosukjadamyo. The Gwangju mayor, who was then on the defensive, brought forward old women in their 80s and 90s and vagrants of around 17 years old at the time, claiming that they were Gwangsu victims, but their alibis did not work and their faces were completely different. However, out of the 661 Gwangsu victims the image analyst found, Gwangju city only put forward 15 false Gwangsu victims and waited for the leftist judges' favorable decision.
Even if, for example, these 15 people are recognized as Gwangsu victims, why can’t the remaining 646 people (661-15=646) be put forward yet?
Chapter 9, The undeniable power of Gwangsu's acceptance
In a word, the power of Gwangsu is unconditionally absolute.
38. There are ‘3 major Gwangsu’ designated by netizens in the Gwangju scene photos. Police Gwangsu, Spatula-chin Gwangsu, and Tongue Gwangsu. Most of the people will recognize these 3 major Gwangsu. The image analyzer discovered 661 North Korean faces in the Gwangju scene photos. Now that if even one of them is recognized as a Gwangsu (North Korean rioter), it means that the North Korean commando involved in the May 18 Gwangju Riot.
39. 27 faces in the Gwangju scene match the people in the group photo that was taken recently with Kim Jong-un. The above said image analyzer, Nosukjadamyo is a 1.5 generation Korean who specialized in video analysis at the CIA. Google’s facial recognition accuracy is said to be 99.996%. Even if the accuracy of the analysis of the said analyzer is reduced to 90%, the probability that all 27 people are not Gwangsu is 17 zeros or less. It is virtually zero.
40. The video analysis of the image analyzer cannot be logically rejected. The highlight of this book is probably a sample of the video analysis of the analyzer, Nosukjadamyo. When looking at this video analysis case, readers need to change their perspective. Who in this world would dare to demonstrate such technology, and have you ever seen someone around you who can risk their eyesight and work so hard for more than three years? I, the author of this book have never met the analyzer who has been so accurate and thorough in his efforts.
Chapter 10. There are always spies in the military command. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Yoo Byung-hyun vacated the southern coast of Jeollanam-do.
41. There is no war without spies in this world. There are analyses that the decisive spy during the Korean War was Jang Kyung-geun, who was then the Deputy Minister of National Defense at the time, and the decisive spy during the May 18 Gwangju Riot was Yoo Byung-hyun, then the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the time.
Chapter 11, The ‘5.18 Truth Investigation Committee’ Without Crucial Facts Finally Commits a Crime
42.The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea enacted a legislation in 2019 to investigate whether North Korean troops participated in the Gwangju Riot, and established an investigation committee so-called "The May 18 Gwangju Truth Commission". Despite being a person from Gwangju and being a party to a conflict of interest, the committee appointed Song Seon-tae as the chairman to carry out the investigation. However, Song Seon-tae, the Chairman of the 5.18 Truth Investigation Committee, was caught while he was trying to fake the ‘No.1 Gwangsu’, the symbol of Gwangsu, by using sorcery and hierarchy and abusing his position. Song was to mainly incapacitate the No.1 Gwangsu’s rampant power of propagation and acceptance.
Lee Dong-wook, a non-standing member of the committee, appeared on Yutube channels of Rhee Syngman TV and Pen & Mike TV dozens of times and made false broadcasts denigrating that most of my (the author’s) research results were false. He was therefore sued by me (the author).
A North Korean defector, Mr. Lee Ju-seong wrote and published a novel called" Purple Lake" that contains a lot of stories on North Korean troops' participation in the May 18 Gwangju Riot in 1980.
Therefore, Lee Dong-wook forced the author, Lee Ju-seong and the main character of the novel, Jeong Myung-woon to come to a motel even at mid night to have them confess the contents of the novel were entirely fabricated. At the motel the author and the main charator were bullied and threatened by Lee Dong-wook for more than 5 hours. Full story made at that time was fully voice recorded.
This means that the above investigation committee has not carried out an objective investigation but attempted to distort the truth through a way of using deception and hierarchy. In addition, In spite of the 42 decisive evidences that can be proved and believed as a crystal clear fact that NK's intervention was true, there has been no single piece of evidence that can deny NK's participation.
