북은 돈만 있으면 핵무기 뿐 아니라, 각종 전투 무기개발에 주력을 하고 있습니다. 무인기 (uav) 도 한국 보다 먼저인 1992년 개발 착수하였습니다. 지금은 무인 정찰기 뿐만 아니라, 러시아제 무인공격기를 사들여 개조하여, 10여년 전에 무인 공격기 부대를 만들고 이미 실전에 들어간지가 오래 전 입니다. 한국은 북한 보다 늦은 1993~1994년 부터 작전요구성능(ROC : Required Operational Capability)을 정하고, 무인기 구입을 검토하기 시작했습니다.

최근 링스헬기가 연이어 2대가 추락했습니다. 군사분야에 밝은 사람들은, 북한이 잠수함이나 위장 어선에서 북한이 개발한 레이저 대포를 쏜 것 아닌지 의심하고 있습니다. 이미 북은 군사분계선에서 미군 헬기에 레이저 총을 발사하여, 미군들은 미군혤기에 고글(안경)을 쓰고, 레이저 광선 대비를하며 작전 임무를 수행한다고 합니다. 미군들이 레이져 총을 맞았다고 합니다.  중국이 개발한 레이져총을 개조하여 실험하는 것 아닌지 의심합니다.

"These are blinding laser weapons," said one official. According to the officials, the two Apache attack helicopters were airborne about two miles south of the milewide DMZ when laser sensors on both aircraft went off. The ZM-87 is the world's only laser device designed for use against troops.
