은하수의 속삭임   

 

 내가 태어난 지구가 얄밉다

 시간도 쬐끔 주고

 공간도 쬐끔 준다

 돈도 쬐금 주고

 괴롭히는 사람만 많이 준다

 

 외로운 나는

 늘 나무 위에 올랐다

 뭔가를 속삭이는

 수많은 별들에

 귀를 더 가까이 댔다

 

 은하수 별들이 쏟아져 내렸다

 은가루보다 더 화려하게

 그리고 입들을 모아 속삭였다

 우리 모두 네 친구야

 

 내 친구?

 내 친구가 그렇게 많은데

 왜 모두 하늘 먼 곳에 가 있대?

 물으니 그들이 말했다

 지구가 너무 싫어서였다고

 

 그럼 거기는 좋아?

 아니

 아니라면 그럼 뭐야

 지구가 너무 안타까워

 우리도 조잘만 대는 거라고

 지구에서 조잘대는

 네가 안타까워

 은하수 별들이 같은 처지라서

 조잘대는 거라구

 

 그럼 나더러 어떻게 하라고

 그건 네가 할 일이고

 네가 책임져야 할 일이야

 

 아름답던 별들의 속삭임

 아름다웠던 것도

 속삭였던 것도

 결국은 하나

 지상의 의무

 지상의 도리

 다 하라는

 냉정한 속삭임

 그것이 전부였다

 

Whispering of the Milky Way

 

I hate the earth where I was born

It gave me a very little time, space and money, but it sent me a lot of people who only bother and harass me

 

I who was lonely enjoyed sitting on the trees, and put my ears close to the countless stars that were endlessly whispering

 

Soon the twinkling stars in the galaxy started pouring down on me

showing more fancy figure than silver powder

The stars began whispering in my ears and saying in chorus "You are a friend to all of us"

 

Do you mean that all of you are friends of mine?

Then why are the great many friends of mine living only in the distant heaven?

I was told " because they were really sick and tired of the earth"

 

Then, is the Milky Way safe and comfortable?

They replied " Nope"

If not, what is it then?

The earth looks pretty bad to us

That's why we are just babbling on

We the stars in heaven think your situation in the earth seems to be so pitiful that we are just whispering and trying to be in your shoes

 

Then, what do you want me to do?

That is your job and responsibility

In the end, all the beautiful whisperings shared with the stars are defined as a duty that I must carry out with strict responsibility in the earth.
