      한국당 고민 풀어주는 파격 제안  

 

5.18진상규명위원 선발과 관련하여 한국당에 매우 중요하다고 생각되는 제안을 한다. 어차피 시일은 많이 지났다. 열흘 묵은 나그네 하루 급할 일 없다. 지만원을 선택하고 안 하고에 한국당 운명이 달려 있는 것은 누구도 부정할 수 없을 것이다. 진퇴양난, 지만원을 안고 가기도 어렵고, 버리고 가기도 어려운 입장에 있는 것이 한국당의 처지다.그래서 내가 한국당의 고민을 풀어줄 수 있는 제안을 하고자 한다.

 

최근 TV만 조금씩 보아도 이근식이라는 사람을 포함해 많은 출연자들이 지만원의 인격과 지만원의 5.18연구내용들에 대해 비방을 하고 폄훼를 한다. 그들은 내 연구결과가 그들의 상식을 벗어나 있다고 자신 있게 말한다. 이런 모습을 보면서 나는 한국당을 위하고 대한민국을 위할 수 있는 매우 적절한 대안을 생각해 냈다.

 

하태경, 최경환 그리고 한국당-민주당을 포함한 모든 정당 인들, 지만원의 연구결과를 불신하는 지식인들, 5월 단체 사람들, 북한특수군 개입을 적극 부정하는 조갑제와 서정갑 그리고 대한민국에서 가장 학구적인 학자들, 탈북자들 그리고 그 외의 모든 국민들 중 수십 또는 수백 명을 선발하여 그들이 궁금해 하는 것들을 하루 종일 지만원에게 질문하는 거국적 공청회를 열고 그것을 전국적으로 중계방송하는 프로를 만들어 주기를 한국당에 제안한다. 5.18진실에 관한 한 나는 대한민국 국민 모두로부터 그 어떤 질문이라도 받을 것이다. 방어하는 사람은 오로지 지만원 한 사람, 공격하는 사람은 무제한으로 하는 공청회, 이런 깨끗한 결투장을 마련해주기를 바라는 것이다.

 

한국당이 이런 기회만 마련해 준다면 한국당은 모든 짐을 벗는다. 그리고 국민으로부터 고맙다는 인사를 받을 것이다. 지만원을 안고 가느냐, 버리고 가느냐, 이런 고민 할 필요가 없는 것이다. 이런 기회만 마련해 준다면 구태여  2년 또는 3년에 걸쳐 막대한 예산 써가면서 진상규명 같은 절차 안 거쳐도 끝장을 낼 수 있다. 내가 지면 내가 조작의 죄인이 되고, 내가 이기면 북한군이 온 것이다. 이 이상 깔끔하고 아쌀하고 경제적이고 시원한 해결책이 어디에 또 있겠는가?  

 

오늘 늦은 뉴스를 보니 김병준이 나에 대해 부정적인 생각을 표했다. 얼마 전 김병준은 나에게 문자를 넣었다. “연락을 드리고 찾아뵙겠습니다”고. 그는 나와 함께 서울시 시정개혁위원회에서 일한 바 있다. 당시의 내 명성은 그보다 많이 앞서 있었다. 그래서 연락드리고 찾아뵙겠다는 문자를 넣은 것이다. 그런데 한번 만나보자 하지도 않고 어찌 나에 대해 부정적인 의견을 내는지 황당하다. 이것이 사람이 변하는 모습인 것이다. 나는 김병준을 매머드 공청회에 초대하고 싶다. 그로부터 질문을 받고 싶다. 그는 오늘 말한바 그대로 어째서 내가 적절치 않은 인물인지 그 자리에서 지적해 주기 바란다.

 

이 글을 접하시는 모든 분들은 한국당에 이 매머드급 공청회를 주최하도록 격려하고 종용해 주시기 바란다. 대한민국의 모든 수재들이 나와 나에게 질문을 하라 하는데 한국당이 이런 공청회를 주저할 이유가 없지 아니한가? 내가 땅에 눕고 그 누운 나의 배 위를 탱크가 지나가 보라 제안하는 것이다. 세기의 화려한 무대가 될 것이 아니겠는가? 이것을 거부하면 한국당은 설 자리를 잃는 것이다. 5월 단체, 5.18호위무사들 모두가 나서서 한국당을 격려하라. 그것이 진실을 밝히려는 가장 깨끗한 매너가 아니겠는가?    

 

My Exceptional Proposal to Solve Liberty Korea Party‘s Problem

 

I would like to make a very important proposal to Liberty Korea Party regarding the selection of the May 18th truth-finding committee members. At any rate, time has already passed a lot. A vagabond lodging in ten days has nothing to hurry for one day (We don‘t have to hurry as we are already late anyhow as it is). I think nobody can deny that Liberty Korea Party’s destiny depends on whether it would select Jee Man-Won or not. They are in a dilemma. Liberty Korea Party is now in a position difficult to go on either embracing Jee Man-Won or discarding him away. In this situation, I‘d like to make a proposal which can serve the Party to solve their problem.

 

If you have watched TV recently just a little while, you might have noticed that many commentators including Lee Keun-Shik were slandering and disparaging Jee Man-Won‘s personality and the contents of his research on the May 18th. They said with confidence that the conclusion of my research was contrary by far to their common sense. Watching them on TV, I thought out an appropriate alternative which can do in favor of Liberty Korea Party as well as ROK(South Korea).

 

I would like to propose Liberty Korea Party to make arrangement to hold a nation-wide hearing, and make program to broadcast it live all over the nation. I am asking Liberty Korea Party to select, for fixing the participants in the hearing, - - tens of or hundreds of people among 1) Ha Tae-Kyong, Choi Kyong-Hwan and all the politicians including the members of Liberty Korea Party and Democratic Party 2) all the intellectuals who distrust Jee Man-Won‘s research result 3) people from the May 18th organizations 4) Cho Gab-Je, Suh Jong-Gab and the most academic scholars who all definitely deny North Korean troop’s intervention 5) defectors from North Korea and all others in the nation, - - and let them question Jee Man-Won in the hearing all day long on whatever they wonder or are curious of. As long as it is concerned to the truth of the May 18th. I would welcome any question from any people of South Korea. Such a hearing which will have a single man of Jee Man-Won as a defender and many people unlimited as attackers, -- I would like them to make an arrangement for a clean duel place like this.

 

If Liberty Korea Party should really provide this opportunity, they will be released from all burden. And they will get greetings of compliment from the nation. They will not have to undergo the agonizing trouble whether to go on embracing Jee Man-Won or to go on discarding him away. If they provide this opportunity, I think we can finish it without having the trouble to go through the truth-finding procedure, spending an extravagant amount of national budget for the wasteful period of two or three years. If I lose, I shall be a criminal of committing fabrication. If I win, then it is true that North Korean troops had come here. Where else can we find a solution smarter, cleaner, cooler and more economical than this?

 

I found out from the news late this morning that Kim Byong-Joon expressed negative notion about me. Some days ago, Kim Byong-Joon sent me a message telling me that “I will give you a notice and pay a visit, sir”. He once worked with me in the City Administration Reformation Committee of Seoul City. At that time, I was far ahead of him in my reputation. That‘s why he messaged the words that he will pay a visit. By the way, it is so embarassing to me how he could give out negative notion about me even without asking me to meet him for once. This is one of the phase showing the process of a man changing into another personality. I’d like to invite him to the Mammoth Hearing. I really want to get a question from him. Exactly like what he said today, I hope him to point out at the hearing why I am not an appropriate figure.

 

Anyone who read this essay, please encourage and persuade Liberty Korea Party to make arrangement to hold this mammoth class hearing. As for me, I am asking all the geniuses of ROK(South Korea) to come out to question me, then, isn‘t it right that the Liberty Korea Party should not have any reason to hesitate to hold this hearing? I am making a proposal that I will lie down on my back and I want them to try go over my belly driving in their tanks. Won’t it be a brilliant stage in the world? If Liberty Korea Party should reject it, then the Party shall lose the ground to stand on. Please the May 18th organizations and escort guards of the May 18th, -- Please come out all to encourage Liberty Korea Party. Won‘t that be the cleanest manner for finding out all the truth?
